Collaborating with donors in creating scholarship opportunities that help our students achieve their educational dreams and career goals has been one of the most gratifying experiences in Elisa Rohr's professional life. In 2020, she was accepted into Seminole State's Leadership Academy where she forged cross-agency partnerships with staff and faculty in helping students thrive at Seminole State. "Together with the College’s affordable tuition, our Foundation scholarship can be the difference in a student’s life plan," Rohr says. "Students also appreciate the support and investment our donors make in their future. It encourages them to be bolder, dream bigger, and be the best version of themselves. With so many scholarship opportunities available, if a student can dream it, we can find a way to help fund it."

In 2013, Wert was accepted into the College’s Leadership Academy program for faculty and staff. His Leadership Academy journey allowed him to find opportunities to build meaningful connections with his colleagues. “It is easier to get help from a friend than a stranger,” he said, so the networking component of the Leadership Academy was a valuable opportunity. He states that although you may be an expert in your field, you can accomplish more together than you can alone. When asked about his thoughts on leadership, Wert shared, “You might think you're the smartest, most hard-working person in your organization. You might even be right; however, it won't matter much if no one wants to work with you.” He is located at the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus and is a Leadership Academy Alumnus.
