TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills)
The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is for students planning to enter certain Limited Access programs in Allied Health including Nursing and Physical Therapy Assistant.
The TEAS assesses:
- Reading
- Mathematics
- Science
- English & Language Usage
TEAS Testing at Seminole State
The Assessment and Testing Center offers TEAS to Seminole State students and non-Seminole State students by appointment only. Individuals may test virtually or on campus campus at Sanford/Lake Mary, Altamonte or the Lee Campus at Oviedo.

Seminole State permits individuals to test three times over a 12 month rolling period.
Individuals are permitted to re-test 31 days from their previous test date. This is non-negotiable; plan accordingly.
Seminole State's Title III Program supports Preparing for the TEAS.
- Virtual Testing is currently unavailable.
- By registering for a virtual testing appointment, testers give permission to appear via webcam for the Virtual Testing Session. If you do not wish to appear via webcam, you understand that the Virtual Testing Session will not be available to you and you must cancel your appointment. You understand that in-person testing options are available, and if interested you must contact the testing center to make arrangements for an in-person appearance.
- While we make every effort to honor all appointment requests , each appointment is verified for testing eligibility and may be subject to cancellation up to 24 hours before the requested appointment. To avoid this possibility, please ensure that all testing eligibility requirements are met prior to making your request.
- Check-in at least ten minutes for your testing appointment. Late arrivals of five minutes or more run the risk of losing their appointment time and must reschedule.
To take the Virtual TEAS with the SSC Testing Center, you must visit the Sanford/Lake Mary, Altamonte, or Lee Campus at Oviedo to pay your TEAS Testing Fee. If you are unable to pay in person, please cancel your Virtual TEAS appointment and schedule your test directly with ATI
Examination Day Reminders
- Prior to taking any examination, you will need to present a current, valid and original photo ID with a signature(e.g., passport, driver’s license or state-issued ID card).
- Digital Identification is not permissible.
- If your photo ID does not include a signature, a second ID is required with your name and signature (e.g., Social Security card, voter registration card, credit card or debit card).
- If your exam requires payment, testing fees must be paid prior to sitting for the exam.
- Acceptable methods of payment include personal checks (must be preprinted with account holder's name and address), money orders, American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa debit/credit cards (cardholder must be present to sign for all credit card and debit card transactions). Testing Fees paid to Seminole State College are non-refundable.

Exam scheduling, simplified! SSAP-Testing Center is launching on January 2, 2025 as your one stop-location to schedule exams at the Testing Center. TEAS exam sessions in SSAP-Testing Center will be available for registration starting January 2, 2025.
