Academic Advising
Advising is an interactive process between a student and an academic advisor. At Seminole State, students are assigned an advisor to help them navigate the academic environment and make sound decisions in pursuit of their education and career goals.
Students can view their assigned advisor in the MySeminoleState Student Center, and click on the advisor's name to view their contact information. Students are encouraged to meet with their assigned advisor or counselor each term to discuss, clarify and refine their educational pathways and objectives.
Counselors and academic advisors can assist students with:
- Getting started at Seminole State
- Navigating the college system
- Transfer information
- Program requirements
- Major selection
- Prerequisite courses for a major
- Educational plans
- Graduation audits
- College resources and support systems
- College policies and procedures
