Seminole State College of Florida has once again been named one of the Best Workplaces for Commuters for offering exceptional employee commuter benefits. This is the fourth year in a row the College has been recognized.
Seminole State is among a select group of workplaces in the United States that have achieved the Best Workplaces for Commuters National Standard of Excellence by providing exceptional commuter benefits. The College offers employees several commuter benefits, including:
- Telecommuting for applicable positions
- A comprehensive wellness program that encourages walking and health
- Free Lynx bus access (also available to students)
- Compressed work weeks during the summer
“Seminole State College of Florida is one of the top employers in the nation offering high-level commuter benefits to their employees,” said Julie Bond, program manager at Best Workplaces for Commuters. “They give their employees the support they need to get to work and be at their best before, during and after their workday.”
“The health and well-being of our employees is a top priority for the College and implementing a flexible work schedule gives us a competitive edge in employee recruitment and retention while helping reduce traffic congestion and negative environmental impact,” said Mae Ashby, associate vice president of Human Resources at Seminole State. “We are extremely proud to once again be recognized for a program that helps save employees time, money and reduces potential stress.”
The Best Workplaces for Commuters program offers designated organizations access to a range of support services to assess and promote non-driving commuting of employees, including organizational assessment and implementation toolkits, web-based tools and webinars, staff training, and information exchange.
