As part of the Career Conversations series at Seminole State College of Florida, System Engineer Stephanie Locks will be on hand to discuss her career path and answer questions on Monday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. The event will be held in building J at the College’s Sanford/Lake Mary Campus.

Locks is part of the Future Technical Leaders program at the Northrop Grumman Corporation, an exclusive three-year professional development program that takes participants around the country during their rotations. Locks received the Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award from SME (previously the Society of Manufacturing Engineers) in 2019, in part for her work in helping identify how manufacturing processes can be made more efficient and move toward automation.

Career Conversations – Women in STEM will cover her educational background as well as her professional journey. Locks attended Seminole State College of Florida through the dual enrollment program while she attended Lake Brantley High School before continuing to Cornell University and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Now, as a system engineer, she is returning to Seminole State to share her story as a woman in STEM and how she maneuvered around the obstacles of being a minority in her field to find success.

This Career Conversation is supported by the Grindle Honors Institute and the Career Development Center. This event is free and open to the public. Seminole State students are encouraged to register for the event through RaiderConnect.
