Joshua Robinson
Technical Support Tier II, Sprint IP Services
Ten years into his job in cell phone sales, Joshua Robinson had earned several college credits, but no degree. But, after enrolling in Seminole State’s Network Services Technology A.S. Degree program, he was quickly making up for lost time.
“By 2010 I was ready to start a ‘career’ and decided that IT (information technology) seemed to be the best fit for what I liked to do and the kind of salary I was looking for,” Joshua says.
Just two semesters into his program, and with the support of Adjunct Professor Miguel Ciena, Joshua landed his “dream job.”
“Because of Miguel, I was able to have an opportunity to interview for the Sprint Tech Support Tier II position after completing just two Cisco courses. Once I started the job, I decided to remain in college and complete my degree. I will be forever thankful that my professors acknowledged my potential and encouraged me to pursue my passion.”
Joshua’s advice to prospective and current Seminole State students: “Do what you love! I can finally say that I no longer dread Monday!”
