Project Management Office
The Project Management Office (PMO) provides a solid framework for consistently managing collegewide projects (excluding construction projects) through standard methodology while ensuring projects are aligned with organizational strategies and goals. The PMO supports the College and its constituents by:
- Standardizing implementation of project management methodology and processes resulting in improved project quality, reduced project costs, less project management overhead, improved resource management, better communication and increased accountability
- Establishing clear lines of project responsibility regarding coordination of processes, tools and people; reducing and/or eliminating project gaps, overlaps and duplication of effort
- Training and coaching project teams and individual employees in project management best practices, steadily increasing organizational understanding and expanding core project management competencies, leading to cultural changes within the organization
- Tracking and reporting collegewide project metrics and basic information on the current status of projects
PMO Mission
The mission of the Project Management Office is to help the College achieve organizational success through:
- Efficient and effective project portfolio management practices and College stakeholder communication and collaboration
- Guidance helping College stakeholders understand best project management practices and how application of these practices enhances methodologies and processes within the College and develops talent, increasing bench strength
- Acknowledging and communicating project accomplishments, affirming College stakeholders’ knowledge of effective project management processes and practices
- Recognizing and celebrating successful project completions by helping College stakeholders understand the total value received/gained through effective project management
PMO Vision
The vision of the Project Management Office is to perform project portfolio management functions ensuring alignment to the College’s vision and strategy through efficient and effective outcome realization and appropriate enterprise governance.
