Construction Graduate Spotlight - Chelsea Betz

Student Message

"This program is only the tip of the iceberg of what exists outside of it.

Try hard, ask questions, and always write things down.  This applies to the program and in the real world.

I've utilized a lot of what I've absorbed from working in the industry and have applied it in completing the program and vice-versa, so pay attention and try to gain experience everywhere you can."

Signature Project

Description of project:

"I am working on Epic Universe, Universal Orlando Resort's new Theme Park.   My scope on this project is 8 Acres. I’m managing the construction of multiple attractions, experiences, restaurants, and retail.  This project is incredibly complex. The technology being integrated to provide another level of guest experience is outstanding and the intimacy at which the attractions intertwine with the facility has been challenging."

Proud project moments:

"To build a Theme Park, you're challenged to take creative intent and turn it into something buildable while maintaining an immersive environment to not detract guests from their experience. “Constructability” has been the challenge throughout the project and solving problems of “how” has been incredibly rewarding. This role requires a high level of ingenuity and the experience of developing out-of-the-box solutions has been exciting and fulfilling."
