Daniel J. O'Keefe, Vice-Chair
Daniel J. O’Keefe was appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in December 2020.
O’Keefe, of Longwood, is the Central Florida Office managing shareholder for MSL, P.A., formerly known as Moore Stephens Lovelace, P.A. . He serves on MSL’s Board of Directors and is the corporate vice chair for the firm.
O’Keefe is recognized as one of the top public-sector instructors in the state of Florida with over 40 years of public accounting, governmental and non-for-profit experience, and is a nationally recognized expert in the area of governmental auditing. He has extensive experience auditing governmental and not-for-profit agency financial operations, including services provided to over 50 municipalities, 14 counties, four state agencies, and numerous special districts and authorities. In addition, he provides consulting services in the areas of internal control assessments, litigation support, fraud remediation and performance reviews.
A Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner, O’Keefe provides Continuing Professional Education (CPE) services to clients, peers and governmental agencies nationwide. He has written numerous CPE courses on governmental accounting and auditing, and has delivered CPE sponsored by the American Institute of CPAs and the Florida Institute of CPAs, as well as served a four-year term on the Florida Board of Accountancy CPE Committee.
O'Keefe serves as vice chair of United Arts. He previously served on Seminole State's Board of Trustees from 2018 to 2019, was board chairman of the Foundation for Seminole State College in 2012, and is a past member of the Florida Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Governors. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, and an MBA from Florida State University.
