Procedure for Students on Academic Probation or Suspension
Academic Probation
- Meet your assigned Academic Advisor to develop an academic plan for the subsequent semester and receive an updated Educational Plan.
Academic Suspension
- Students that are placed on Academic Suspension are prohibited from enrolling in the next semester due to not meeting Seminole State’s minimum grade point average requirements. Students can petition to enroll in the subsequent semester by completing the Petition to Enroll While on Academic Suspension.
- Prior to submitting the Petition to Enroll While on Academic Suspension, students must complete the following steps to have their petition considered for review:
- Meet with your Academic Advisor to discuss academic status and strategies for success.
- Obtain proposed course schedule and registration form signed by your Advisor.
- Submit petition with supporting documentation to Dean of Students or the Director of Academic Advising and Counseling (packet must include the following documents):
- Petition Form
- Degree Audit
- Explanation as to why you have not maintained academic progress in the past and proposal on what you plan to do to improve your academic performance
- Attach additional supporting documentation that supports your petition
- Course schedule and registration form (obtained from Academic Advisor)
- Meet with your Academic Advisor to discuss academic status and strategies for success.
- All documents must be submitted in a complete packet to your assigned Academic Advisor which will then be submitted to the Dean of Students or the Director of Academic Advising and Counseling for review.
- If petition is approved you will eligible to enroll according to the recommendations of the Dean of Students or the Director of Academic Advising and Counseling.
- If petition is denied you will be dropped from your classes.
