Seminole State College of Florida’s latest articulation agreement with Rollins College will not only allow for a smooth transition between schools, but provide graduates of the Grindle Honors Institute additional support.
Honor students will receive guaranteed admission to the College of Liberal Arts at Rollins College and a guaranteed President Merit Scholarship of $24,000 a year for two years or to the completion of their bachelor’s degree. To qualify, the student must graduate from Seminole State with a minimum 3.4 GPA and an Associate in Arts degree with the honors diploma option.
“We share a lot of the philosophy of Rollins, especially around servant leadership and small class sizes,” said Honors Director Tracy Harbin. The institute puts a heavy focus on students using their skills in the community, not only to give back, but to also provide hands-on learning and experience they can carry with them. “The Grindle Honors Institute is like a small private college at a public price,” said Harbin.
Students can benefit from the partnership even before graduating, with access to specialized advising from Rollins College. The advisors help the students think ahead to their path at the university and assist them in optimizing their current course selections.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to tour Rollins during a Grindle Honors trip, and from my experience, it was amazing to see how deeply Rollin cares for its transfer students when it came to the depth of financial aid and student support.

These opportunities are offered with the Grindle Honors program, so I was extremely excited that Rollins offers something so familiar and personalized for each student!”
Students outside the honors department can also utilize the new articulation agreement. Non-honors students with a minimum 2.8 GPA will also have guaranteed admission to the Hamilton Holt School at Rollins College.
