He’s been battling brain cancer for three years but that hasn’t stopped Caleb Foarde, a student at Seminole State College of Florida, from mentoring other young people undergoing cancer treatment. And thanks to Make-A-Wish and ESPN, he’s been honored for his generosity by becoming a member of the Buffalo Bills.

Foarde was diagnosed with brain cancer during his senior year at Windemere High School and underwent treatment at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. After graduating in 2021 he didn’t let his diagnosis get in the way of becoming a nurse and helping others. In fall 2021, he began studying at Seminole State, taking nursing prerequisite classes.
“I chose Seminole State because I heard they had a great nursing program, and they also had a great online program and that’s what I was looking for,” said Foarde. “And I was originally able to do that. I was trucking through my courses and then chemo just got a little too intense, and I had to withdraw. Obviously, that was hard, but that was no one's fault. It was just the circumstance.”
Foarde and fellow cancer survivor Riley Huet met while they were both undergoing treatment and the two bonded. She was excited to be the one to tell Caleb that his dream of meeting his favorite NFL team is coming true and personally handed Foarde a letter from Buffalo Bills General Manager Brandon Beane inviting him to the Bills' facilities in Orchard Park, New York.
In early June, Foarde and his family traveled to Buffalo and made their way to One Bills Drive.
"Meeting the Bills players and coaches was fantastic. It was everything I wanted and was hoping for."
Caleb FoardeDuring his visit, Foarde spent time on the field with the players including Bills quarterback Josh Allen; Seminole High School and University of Central Florida grad wide-receiver Gabe Davis; offensive lineman David Quessenberry, who in 2017 recovered from Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma; safety Damar Hamlin, who is back on the field after suffering cardiac arrest during the Bills’ matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals in January; and linebacker Texas A&M Aggie Tyrel Dodson, one of Foarde and his father’s favorite players who they saw play several times attending Texas A&M games. He also worked with the coaches and enjoyed having lunch with the team.
Foarde and his family also visited several restaurants for chicken wings and made a visit to Niagara Falls.
