Nominations open for Alumni Association's 2023 Alumni Legacy Awards

The Seminole State College Alumni Association is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 2023 Alumni Legacy Awards. The awards recognize Seminole State College of Florida alumni who have made substantial contributions to society and whose accomplishments, affiliations and careers have honored the legacy of excellence at Seminole State.
The Alumni Legacy Awards have been a tradition at Seminole State since 1998, with the creation of the Distinguished Alumni Award. In 2016, the Alumni Association recognized its first Outstanding Graduate and in 2019, the Honors Alumni Award and Alumni Excellence Honors were added to the roster. These awards celebrate the achievements of Seminole State's alumni and their dedication to upholding the College's values. More than just a recognition, they are a testament to the lifelong connection between the College and its alumni. They highlight the impact that Seminole State graduates have on their communities and industries, and they inspire current students to strive for success.
The Alumni Association encourages anyone to nominate deserving Seminole State alumni who have demonstrated exceptional service to the community, achieved professional success, or shown a commitment to the values of Seminole State. Those who wish to submit a nomination for these awards do not need to be Seminole State alumni.
The deadline for nominations is Aug. 9. Nominations will be accepted online through the Alumni Association's Alumni Legacy Awards website. In addition to completing and submitting the award nomination form, nominators are encouraged to provide supporting items that further distinguish the nominee. Examples include a current biography for the nominee, newspaper and/or magazine articles, personal stories, and awards or certificates of achievement, etc. For more information about the Alumni Legacy Awards and the nomination process, please visit the awards website.
The Alumni Association looks forward to honoring the legacy of excellence at Seminole State and will celebrate alumni achievements at the invitation-only Celebration of Giving on Sept.12. Award winners and their nominator(s) will be notified a minimum of three weeks in advance of the celebration date.
Since 1966, Seminole State College of Florida has awarded more than 100,000 degrees and certificates. The Alumni Association provides benefits and services for all alumni as they continue their lifelong connection with Seminole State College of Florida. It also provides opportunities for alumni to network with one another, interact with the student body and support the College.
Whether you've earned a degree or a certificate, or enrolled in just one course, you're a Seminole State alumnus, and we want you to enjoy the benefits of maintaining a relationship with the College.
