Seminole State College of Florida’s Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (RN-to-BSN) baccalaureate  program has been  granted national accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

ACEN is recognized as the accrediting body for all types of nursing education by the United States Department of Education (USDE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Delivered 100% online, the RN-to-BSN Online enables nurses to continue working while pursuing their BSN degree. Designed specifically for currently registered nurses (RNs) and those who are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX RN) exam, Seminole State College’s RN-to-BSN degree can be completed in as little as one year, and at a total cost of about $5,000. Students can also choose a less accelerated path to degree completion.

The ACEN accreditation means Seminole State’s RN-to-BSN Online has attained a level that meets or exceeds national and industry standards.

“Achieving accreditation assures the public that the program meets or exceeds industry standards for quality and is continually evaluating and improving its education to students,” said Nancy Gasper, Dean of Nursing.  “I am so proud of our leadership team and students who participated in this lengthy accreditation process and also the incredibly dedicated and talented faculty who provide such a high-quality nursing education.”

After receiving approval from the Florida State Board of Education, the College enrolled its first RN-to-BSN Online class in the spring of 2018 with its inaugural class graduating in May 2019.

The effective date for initial accreditation of the baccalaureate RN-to-BSN Online program is April 13, 2018.
