Give to the The Gallagher Family Endowed Scholarship in Nursing
The Gallagher Family Endowed Scholarship in Nursing at Seminole State College of Florida was established in 2015 to recognize the devoted efforts of the Gallagher women in both the healthcare industry and community service. Gerry Gallagher, the family matriarch, has spent over 41 years as a registered nurse. She began her career in Massachusetts later working for Orange Memorial Hospital, which is now known as Orlando Health.
One of Gerry's daughters, Geriann, has dedicated over 30 years to the healthcare industry, first completing her undergraduate studies at Gwynedd Mercy University to obtain her RN license and later becoming a nurse practitioner after earning her master's and doctoral degrees at Rush University in Chicago. She continued her studies, obtaining an additional master's degree from the New England School of Acupuncture.
Kathleen Gallagher McIver, who is also Gerry's daughter, has been instrumental in helping the lives of students through her service as a board member of the Foundation for Seminole State College.
Eligible students must be currently enrolled in the nursing program, attending full time (12 or more credit hours) and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to students who plan to remain in Central Florida upon graduation.

Receiving this scholarship has helped offset the costs of tuition, uniform, books and supplies of the start of the nursing program as well as childcare. I want to pursue a degree in nursing to better myself and my family. My family has been my No. 1 priority for the past eight years, and they make me want to do better and be better. I want to be able to set a good example for my kids and show them that anything is possible if you set your heart and mind to it.
