Give to the Orlando Health 9/11 Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Orlando Health hosts local first responders for their annual 9/11 Memorial Golf Tournament in Lake Mary. The event, established in September 2019, is held in remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice on Sept. 11, 2001, and to honor and thank those who continue to serve our community.
An advocate from the beginning, Shawn Molsberger, President of Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital and a Seminole State trustee, along with the Emergency Physicians of Central Florida remain two of the tournament's largest supporters. Organized by Brandon Zumbrum, Orlando Health's EMS Liaison, the tournament continues to grow with interest, participation and financial support from the community.
The Orlando Health 9/11 Memorial Endowed Scholarship has been established to honor and remember those lost on September 11. In addition, it will serve to continue their legacy while supporting future generations of first responders.
The scholarship will provide financial assistance to students enrolled in Seminole State’s Fire Academy or paramedic program. It is open to all Florida residents, with a preference for students who complete the FAFSA and who demonstrate financial need. All applicants must submit a 300-500-word essay on why he/she wants to become a firefighter/paramedic and must also participate in an interview if selected as a finalist.
