Julia Rentas
Julia Rentas began her college career at Seminole State in Fall 2018 and earned her Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree in Spring 2020. She transferred to Stetson University to pursue her bachelor’s degree in marketing.
“I loved being a part of Seminole State’s First Generation Program because I had numerous resources to help me graduate. I had awesome advisors, a greet peer mentor and so many opportunities to get more involved in school,” said Rentas. While attending Seminole State College, she was an active scholar in the Grindle Honors Institute and Phi Theta Kappa, an international honors society for two-year colleges. She also earned a place on the President’s List each semester. “Without this program, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have been as motivated to be the best version of myself,” she said.
Receiving the Wayne M. Densch scholarship allowed Rentas to graduate quicker by taking more classes each semester. She also says the program gave her the opportunity to meet amazing people from different backgrounds.
