This course encompasses the application shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and basic gas Tungsten arc welding (GTAW) skills. Areas of study include how
to operate GTAW equipment, and how to set up GTAW operation for carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Students will also gain knowledge on
how to perform external inspections of GTAW equipment and accessories and to make fillet welds on plain carbon steel.
