The M120 Project and Performers

The M120 Project is a saxophone quartet based out of the Central Florida area. Founded by Steven Amann, Colin Urbina, Noah Mosca, and Alex Garcia, the group focuses on performing a wide variety of literature at the highest possible level.

Founded in 2022, the group came about from a shared desire to continue making music as each member graduated from college. All four saxophonists attended and graduated with music degrees from the University of Central Florida and shared many fond memories of their time there. The name, The M120 Project, is a reflection of this shared experience, as M120 was the room they numerous hours in for quartet rehearsals, saxophone studio class, and masterclasses.

Steven is a Saxophone and Clarinet teacher based in Central Florida, where he holds the position of Adjunct Professor of Saxophone and Clarinet at Seminole State College in Sanford. He received his Bachelor of Music Performance degree and Master of Arts in Music degree from the University of Central Florida. His primary teachers include George Weremchuk and Jonathan Helton, and additional study with Frederick Hemke, Gail Levinsky, John Sampen, and Sean Hurlburt. Students of his have received recognition in All County and All State bands, FSYO membership, and superior ratings at District and State Solo & Ensemble. He has performed with ensembles such as the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Hippocrene Saxophone Quartet & Ensemble, and the National Intercollegiate Band. Outside of his music endeavors, Steven enjoys recreational softball, golf, and spending time with family and friends in his free time.

Colin is a Central Florida based musician and educator. Colin started playing the saxophone at age 11 when he began middle school. Quickly falling in love with music, he began to seek out as many musical opportunities as he could. He was an avid member of his school’s band and choir programs, and by the end of his senior year, he decided he wanted to pursue a career in music. Soon after, Colin attended the University of Central Florida and earned a bachelor’s degree in music education. Currently, Colin works as the Associate Director of Bands and Director of Orchestras at Hamlin Middle School in Orange County. Colin is still an active performer in the central Florida area and performs with many local jazz ensembles as well as his saxophone quartet, The M120 Project. Outside of teaching and performing, Colin enjoys spending time with his friends and family, cooking, reading, camping, and going the beach in his free time.

Noah is a saxophonist and part time private lesson instructor who currently resides in Orlando Florida. Starting the saxophone at age 12, he attended premier central Florida education programs, earning a bachelor’s degree in music performance from the University of Central Florida. Taking an interest in saxophone quartet during high school, his passion and dedication to the art form grew deeply during college, as he competed in national competitions earning a finalist spot amongst prestigious schools such as Eastman, Northwestern, and Texas A&M. Noah currently tours with the Dave Matthews Tribute Band, playing soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone, as well as other woodwind instruments such as flute and penny whistles. You can also find him in classical ensembles such as the Space Coast Symphony, The M120 project, and other local funk and R&B groups around the Orlando area.

Alex is a performer and educator in the Orlando Area. He currently works as a band director in Seminole County Public Schools and is a private instructor on flute, clarinet, saxophone, percussion, guitar, and bass. Additionally, he regularly performs in the Daytona and Orlando areas in classical ensembles, theater pits, and rock bands. When he’s not playing music, Alex enjoys reading, composing, trying new foods and spending time with family.
