The Seminole State AFC Chapter creates opportunities for faculty and staff at Seminole State College of Florida to grow professionally, to cultivate a sense of collective purpose, and to seed a culture of service to its community.  Throughout the year the Seminole State AFC hosts a wide variety of political awareness events, professional development workshops, community service projects, and social gatherings.

Holiday Potluck

Dress a Bear & Fill a Stocking

Seminole State employees stuffed stockings and dressed teddy bears this holiday season on behalf of the Salvation Army's community efforts.

Region III & WACE Conference

Seminole State AFC members  ventured out to the College of Central Florida, Citrus Campus to share best practices and learn from their AFC colleagues from around Central Florida and from the Workforce, Adult & Continuing Education (WACE) Commission.

AFC Wears Pink

In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), Seminole State AFC members donned their brightest pink on Tuesday 10/22. Group photos were taken at each campus.

AFC Cares / Rally & Raise

The Seminole State College Chapter of the Association of Florida Colleges (AFC) ran a fundraiser  to support students in need as part of the Rally & Raise campaign to support the College community. Thanks for your support and commitment to change lives! 

Going Bananas for AFC

To share a little relief during peak Fall enrollment, Seminole State AFC  members stopped into the Student Services areas on each campus to deliver healthy snacks. It was a good reminder that you'd be bananas not to be an AFC member!

Ice Cream Socials

What better way is there to cool off during the hot summer months than with an Ice Cream Social? 

Seminole State AFC members on the Altamonte Springs Campus and Lee Campus at Oviedo took some time out this July to grab a popsicle and talk shop about the benefits of joining the Association.

In this webinar College Librarian Claire A. Miller shared a variety of tricks to stay organized, from print planners to online role-playing games—a veritable petting zoo of cool tools!

Member Appreciation Luncheon

The Seminole State AFC Chapter hosted its annual Member Appreciation Luncheon at the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus, followed by a short chapter meeting and a flurry of fun door prizes.

Get Active! @ The Raider Center

Faculty and staff took a little time at the end of the workday on Thursday 3/23 to join their AFC colleagues and get active at the Raider Center. 

Activities included guided meditation and pickleball.
