This course encompasses the application of shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and basic to intermediate gas metal arc welding (GMAW) skills. Areas of
study include how to set up a gas metal arc welding operation for carbon steel, how to setup GMAW equipment. Students will also gain knowledge on how
to make short-circuiting transfer fillet welds, pad welds, and 1G groove spray transfer welds on plain carbon steel.
