About the Program
Seminole State Commits is an extension of Seminole State College’s service to our community. The program offers job readiness, workforce training and continuing education courses to assist residents of Seminole County further their education, gain employment, advance their career and /or improve English language skills.
Courses and workshops are offered in locations throughout Seminole County making accessibility easy.

Courses & Workshops
Seminole State Commits courses and workshops are offered at throughout the semester at various locations. Registration is done on a first come basis and attendance must be confirmed on the first day of class.

Intro to Culinary
This 8-week course combines engaging hands-on kitchen lab exercises with basic culinary skills and fundamental food preparation instruction. Upon completion participants will earn the ServSafe® Industry Certification.

GED Skills Lab
This open enrollment lab is for individuals interested in earning a GED. The skills lab offers individualized tutoring and support in all subject areas to help prepare students to enter our GED Prep program in the Summer 2025 or future terms. Current GED students wanting additional support are welcome to attend! Registration is required.

Social Media in Business Workshops
One-hour workshops designed to equip participants with the latest skills and strategies to leverage social media for career success in today’s dynamic digital landscape. Attend one or multiple workshops. Registration is required.
All workshops will be held at Altamonte Springs Library from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on the following dates.

WordPress Workshop
This two half-day workshop teaches you how to create stunning websites, manage content, and optimize for SEO. Hands-on sessions ensure you leave with practical experience and a fully functional site.
