About the Program
Seminole State Commits is an extension of Seminole State College’s service to our community. The program offers job readiness, workforce training and continuing education courses to assist residents of Seminole County further their education, gain employment, advance their career and /or improve English language skills.
Courses and workshops are offered in locations throughout Seminole County making accessibility easy.

Courses & Workshops
Seminole State Commits courses and workshops are offered at throughout the semester at various locations. Registration is done on a first come basis and attendance must be confirmed on the first day of class.

GED Skills Lab
This open enrollment lab is for individuals interested in earning a GED. The skills lab offers individualized tutoring and support in all subject areas to help prepare students to enter our GED Prep program in the Spring 2025 or future terms. Begin your path to earning your GED today! Registration is required.

ESOL: Life Skills
This open enrollment course is designed for non-native English speakers who aim to improve their English language skills for everyday life, work and further learning. Course topics include; enhancing communication and employability skills, developing essential soft skills and understanding health-related topics. Classes are designed with grammar, reading and writing within each topic. Registration is required.

ESOL: Get a Better Job Workshop Series
This four session workshop series geared toward non-native English speakers will focus on skills to help you get a better job. Special emphasis is placed on differences between job searching in the U.S. versus other countries. Upon completing the series, participants will:
- Have a finalized resume
- Have a finalized cover letter
- Understand interview do's & don'ts
